This statue of Paul Revere close to the Old North Church commemorates his memorable ride during the American War of Independence. While it is an impressive statue, there are plenty of other statues in Boston that are equally as good. You will see this on the Freedom Trail as it is between the Old North Church and Paul Revere's House.

(1861–1944) created only one equestrian statue: of Paul Revere in Boston, and that not without pain. Only the fifth version of the design was accepted, and once accepted there was a lack of funds, as a result of which the statue was only unveiled in 1940.
On this day in 1940, a bronze statue of Paul Revere was unveiled in the shadow of the Old North Church. In the crowd of 8,000, stood the sculptor — 79-year-old Cyrus Dallin. He had waited 55 years since a committee had first selected his design to see his statue erected.
