Pastor John S Battle III. Bishop Designate, Dr. John Sidney Battle, III was ordained in 1999 at Little Vine Baptist Church by Reverend R. L. Jones and was later appointed Associate Pastor and Youth Director. In 1999 – 2004, he also served as the Youth Pastor at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, his home church, in Washington D.C.

John Sidney Battle (born November 9, 1962) is a retired American professional basketball player and pastor. A 6' 2" (1.88 m) guard from Rutgers University, Battle was selected in the fourth round of the 1985 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He ended his career with 5,338 points.
