Western Spindalis males have bright orange throats and black-and-white striped heads. Their backs are either green or black with some orange color. Females are less bright but have similar coloring and patterns. They live predominantly in the Caribbean but they also are found in southern Florida.
I don’t think there is a brighter orange bird in Florida than the Baltimore Oriole! Males are an unmistakable, stunning combination of orange and black with white wing bars. However, females are beautiful in their own way, featuring duller colors than the males while lacking a black hood and back.
