New York Dolls were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1971. Along with the Velvet Underground and the Stooges, they were one of the first bands of the early punk rock scenes.
Inicialmente, el grupo estaba compuesto por David Johansen, los guitarristas Johnny Thunders y Rick Rivetts (quien fue reemplazado por Sylvain Sylvain después de unos meses), el bajista Arthur Kane y el baterista de origen colombiano William Murcia, conocido como Billy Murcia .
