Murray Jonathan Gold (born 28 February 1969) is an English composer for stage, film, and television and a dramatist for both theatre and radio. He is best known as the musical director and composer of the music for Doctor Who from its revival in 2005 until 2017. In 2023, he was announced to be returning to the series.
Murray Gold's London home studio, situated in a soundproofed attic room, where he has composed the music to all three series of the revived Doctor Who to date. To the left can be seen Murray's Quested and Genelec 1030A monitors, his beloved TLA VTC valve console, Intel Mac laptop (on which he runs Logic Express) and a Korg MS2000B (ignobly doubling as a mouse mat!).
