In this Shakespearean farce, Hero and her groom-to-be, Claudio, team up with Claudio's commanding officer, Don Pedro, the week before their wedding to hatch a matchmaking scheme. Any rom-com we see today is haunted by the arguing defensive love-mad ghosts of Beatrice and Benedick, the reluctant, verbal-barb-trading lovers. Watching Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof battle it out, in words and in a near wrestling match near the end of the film, is a supreme pleasure.
