  1. Frederick Foswell, also known as the Big Man and Patch, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. [1] Publication history. Frederick Foswell first appeared, as the Big Man, in The Amazing Spider-Man #10 (March 1964), and was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. [2]

  2. Mr. Big was a mobster and the head of Wilson Fisk's Enforcers. He wore a business suit and a fedora hat which overshadowed his eyes. Foswell was scheming to overthrow Fisk, who he believed wasn't a true mobster who didn't want his "hand's dirty", by using Spider-Man as his secret weapon.

  3. Frederick Foswell was a reporter for the Daily Bugle and secretly led a criminal life as the crime boss Big Man. He also employed the Enforcers as his muscle. He was eventually caught and had his crime spree put to a halt after having been defeated by Spider-Man, but after serving some time he seemingly reformed and got his job back at the Bugle.

  4. He is rivaled by fellow crime lord Hammerhead, and briefly Mr. Big. In the first storyline in which he appears, Kingpin unmasks Spider-Man, and later taunts with the knowledge of his nemesis's secret identity many times.
