2 de feb. de 2022 · It aims to provide a panoramic view of the representations of the role of the mother as a paradigm of the changes seen in Spanish society, studying the representation of her voice, emotions, and ties to other members of her family through a systemic functional-multimodal discourse analysis applied to picturebooks.
Often regarded as the pinnacle of “correct” womanhood, motherhood broaches a complex dialectic between gender politics and personal autonomy. As a subject and thematic concern, motherhood must therefore be approached by scholars as an institution, an ideology and as lived experience.
