The 1961 Italian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 10 September 1961 at Monza. It was race 7 of 8 in both the 1961 World Championship of Drivers and the 1961 International Cup for Formula One Manufacturers.

On this day 50 years ago, a crash during the Italian Grand Prix claimed the lives of 16 people. Wolfgang von Trips and 15 spectators were killed on the second lap of the race at Monza after von Trips tanlged with Jim Clark.
