Above: a 1973 advert for his first product, the LNP-2 pre amplifier. Although it cost $9,050 ( yup….) in 2013-dollars, a unit recently sold on eBay for $4500. … so not a terrible investment ...

15 de oct. de 2019 · I don't know the back story, but a couple of years later Mark Levinson came out with the LNP-2 (Low Noise Preamplifier) designed by Burwin. Of course Mark's version looked a thousand times better, and had anything and everything a preamplifier user could want, including a take no prisoners price tag.

In 1972, Levinson founded Mark Levinson Audio Systems (MLAS, Ltd.) in New Haven, Connecticut. He ran MLAS from 1972 to 1980, during which time he created products such as the LNP-2 preamplifier. He also invented the concept of high-end car sound in 1979.
