The family moved back to the United States when Louis was 7 and settled in Boston, where he spent the remainder of his childhood.

I recently watched all 40 or so episodes of Louis CK's sitcom (on Netflix), and noticed he wore the Submariner in every show, every scene--sleeping, swimming in the ocean, pretty much all the time.
