He was regarded as having been one of the most prominent theorists of Minimalism [1] along with Donald Judd, but also made important contributions to the development of performance art, land art, the Process Art movement, and installation art. [2] Morris lived and worked in New York.
Litanies, a sheet covered with writing from 1961, is an important drawing by Robert Morris. It was part of our collection until it mysteriously disappeared during the long tour of the exhibition The Drawings of Robert Morris, organized by Thomas Krens in 1982 for the Williams College Museum of Art 1.
