Lee Grant is an American actress and director who won an Oscar for her role in Shampoo (1975) and an Obie Award for her performance in The Maids (1975). She also starred in films such as Valley of the Dolls, In the Heat of the Night, and Mulholland Drive. She was a blacklisted actress for 12 years and a teacher for 10 years before rebounding with her film career.
