He is not right but complicated, Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2 was a fantastic Villan. They had to nerf his back story so audiences wouldn’t sympathize for him too much. In original story his Parents actually hated and despised him because he was born Albino and with red dots and eyes.

Shen is not a emotionally stable or particularly sane man lol. The film also straight up tells us Shen is afraid of Po, so when the one destined to defeat him starts catching his cannonballs and throwing them back Shen goes into full panic mode.
