Before that, Carter was the founding pastor of Austin Stone Community Church in Austin, Texas, which grew from a core team of 15 in 2002 to more than 8,000 attending by his departure in 2020.

John is referring to the fact that there were those who saw and understood. It is possible for Jesus to perform a miracle, and for the crowd to see it, but not to understand it. John was emphasizing the fact that there were other witnesses, who did see the signs, and grasped their meaning.
The First Baptist Church immediately began to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit as to who would be invited to be the pastor of the soon-to-be-completed Sagemont Baptist Chapel. Their search took them outside of Sulphur Springs, Texas, to John D. Morgan, who was pastoring the Posey Baptist Church in that dairy community.
