Japan (officially Nippon or Nihon) is an East Asian island nation located in the Pacific Ocean. It has an area of around 378,000 km and a population of over 126 million people, making it the country with the tenth-largest population in the world. Japan is a constitutional monarchy where the Emperor’s powers are very limited.
