James Gang, 1970. James Gang was een Amerikaanse rockband rond drummer Jim Fox.De band heeft nooit lang in dezelfde bezetting bestaan. The James Gang ontstond in Cleveland in 1966 en bestond oorspronkelijk uit vijf leden. Grote invloeden waren The Yardbirds en The Who.In 1969 bestond de band, naast Fox, uit Tom Kriss (zang en bas) en Joe Walsh (zang en gitaar).

Though the band was not a huge commercial success, the fame garnered by guitarist Joe Walsh (who replaced the original guitarist in 1968) has since made the group more notable. After the group split in early 1977, there have been reunion concerts at various times in 1996, 1998, 2001, and 2005–2006.

Note: Since writing this review I attended a James Gang reunion concert with the original band. We paid for VIP tickets and I won the raffle to play with the band during sound check. Fortunately my instrument was the cowbell and the song was Funk 49.
