Hace 1 día · For reasons I won't get into here but are valid, I'm creating an "XModem CRC 1K" implementation of a receiver for transfers coming from Windows XP HyperTerminal. Many files seem to transfer just fine... I get the 3 byte header (SOH/STX, Sequence, Sequence1C), the data (1024 or 128, depending on total file size), and the 2 bytes for the CRC16.

trying to use a serial cable and HyperTerminal: I guess it also would be very slow, possibly even more so than floppies removing the IDE "hard drive" (which I actually replaced with a 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD inside an IDE enclosure) and connecting it to my newer PCs using some USB adapter: I'd rather not have to stop the system and do all that every time I want to transfer a few files…
