La mariquita asiática multicolor ( Harmonia axyridis) es una especie de coleóptero de la familia Coccinellidae. Es una mariquita originaria de Asia que ha sido introducida en Norteamérica, Europa y Sudamérica con el fin de controlar a los pulgones. Se ha difundido ampliamente en todas estas regiones y continúa su expansión.

Harmonia axyridis is a large lady beetle or ladybug species that is most commonly known as the harlequin, Asian, or multicoloured Asian lady beetle. This is one of the most variable species in the world, with an exceptionally wide range of colour forms. [1]
Diagnosis. Length: 5.40 – 8.50 mm; width: 3.80 – 6.00 mm. Form elongate oval, dorsum strongly convex and glabrous. A highly variably coloured and polymorphic species (Fig. 86), that can be reliably identified by the presence of a pair of conspicuous ridges / plicae, sometimes reduced in the apical third of elytra.

Harmonia axyridis es una especie invasora que fue introducida en México y otros países como control biológico (Quiñones & Tarango, 2005; Carbonell & Sesma, 2013). Impacta a la agricultura, vinicultura (Linder et al., 2009; Carbonell & Sesma, 2013) y fruticultura (Koch, 2003).

It was taken to the USA in 1916 and numerous releases followed, with the first established population recorded in 1988 (Chapin and Brou 1991 ).
