Description. Gullies are incised areas where concentrated runof flow has eroded the terrain creating an ephemeral stream. In addition to become a major source of sediment, gullies divide fields increasing costs of farm operations and creating risks for staf that have to cross them or work nearby.
1 de feb. de 2023 · Loose rock check dams (Fig. 7.6) are made of small stones placed across the gully bed. These dams aim to control the bed erosion and check the waterfall erosion by stabilising the gully head. These dams are preferred in areas where loose rocks are readily available.
