The Dead were greatly inspired by the Beatles, as were many bands ofc. But what I really enjoy is the plethora of covers they’ve done live over the years. There’s nothing like a Grateful Dead show, and there’s nothing like two of your favorite bands mashing together.

Hace 3 días · I saw my first Dead show in 1978, and made it to about 120 over the years before Garcia took his exit. There are shows I love from every decade. I'll see if I can come up with some more specific recommendations. But for now, 1972 is a great place to start. Yeah, Cornell 5/8/77 is the standard answer here.
