Cool little write up on some of the history of that. “A vision during an LSD trip is what inspired Owsley “Bear” Stanley, the Grateful Dead’s sound engineer’s mammoth feat of technical engineering, “The Wall of Sound”, irreversibly changing live sound and engineering for the better.

Hace 4 días · I saw my first Dead show in 1978, and made it to about 120 over the years before Garcia took his exit. There are shows I love from every decade. I'll see if I can come up with some more specific recommendations. But for now, 1972 is a great place to start. Yeah, Cornell 5/8/77 is the standard answer here.

The song 'The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion', which appeared on the band's first album, was named for the fan club. 3. The Dead's recording studio in San Rafael was nicknamed 'Club Front' because it was on Front Street.
