Mewett was also used a few years later for Colonel Courage, even though the character is African-American and born in a different city.Airwave was first released as an action figure in 1990, as part of the "Sky Patrol" line.

In June 2023, beginning with Rise of the Beasts, the two franchises began to share continuity. Producer di Bonaventura stated that in future films, actors from the G.I.
