3 de jul. de 2020 · According to legend, when Alexander Hamilton directed his cannons at Nassau Hall, one of the shots fired burst through a window, decapitating a portrait of King George II. While the story has not been proven to be true, the painting did suffer permanent damage during the battle. The frame, however, was unharmed.
