Cranky Kong is a supporting character in in Illumination's thirteenth feature film The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He is the ruler of the Jungle Kingdom and the father of Donkey Kong. He is voiced by Fred Armisen.

Thoughts on Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong. Didn't think he was awful, but he was the weak link of the cast. James Hong would have been better. Honestly, he just had some really bad lines and some questionable direction. He was the weakest main performance but it wasn't his fault. 25K subscribers in the Schaffrillas community.

I want to say I think this was a terrible voice and almost ruined the rest of the film for me because they gave this awful, annoying voice way too many lines. I am almost convinced this was done on purpose to take the heat off of Chris Pratt. And honestly, it worked because I think everyone else did amazing after hearing Cranky Kong holy shit.
21 de mar. de 2024 · Similar to his game counterpart, he is shown to be cranky, although very less cranky than his video game counterpart. He is shown to have a bunch of funny moments in the movie, thanks to Fred Armisen's performance and Cranky Kong's crankiness. The scene with him and the others driving on Rainbow Road while battling Bowser's minions is awesome.
