2 de sept. de 2022 · The objective of this systematic review of population studies was to compare the ability of the frailty index (FI) and frailty phenotype (FP) instruments to predict all-cause mortality in older people.
The frailty index (FI) can be used to measure the health status of older individuals; it serves as a proxy measure of aging and vulnerability to poor outcomes. FI was developed by Dr. Kenneth Rockwood and Dr. Arnold Mitnitski at Dalhousie University in Canada.
The frailty index (FI), developed by our group, is one of the leading paradigms for understanding frailty at population, personal, organ, and tissue levels (with cellular deficit evaluation in development). The frailty index is used in routine care all over the world, including in an electronic form in the National Health Service in England.
