At the end of 1994, Briatore acquired the French team Ligier, restructured it completely and two years later, the team drove to victory at the Monte Carlo GP with Panis. In 1997 Briatore sold Ligier to Alan Prost who renamed it Prost Grand Prix (the team folded in 2002).
