Después de un largo invierno el Espíritu restaura la vida al bosque pero accidentalmente despierta al Espíritu de Fuego (el mismo nombre "Firebird" de la pieza) en un volcán cercano. Finalmente Firebird destruye el bosque y, al parecer, al Espíritu de la Primavera.
