Walsh imagined the School of Foreign Service, the first school of its kind in the United States, would educate students from a global perspective and advance the cause of peace.
Description. Priest, educator, scholar, and statesman, Father Walsh established Georgetown's School of Foreign Service in 1919, the first of its kind in the U.S. While remaining actively involved in the running of the School, he undertook many international trips and diplomatic missions.
