24 de jul. de 2023 · “The End of the Line” is among the best and strangest things she’s written. The idea of the story is: a man goes into a pet store and buys, as a pet, a little man. The little man lives in a little cage with a miniature sofa and miniature TV. A meal for him is a drop of whiskey and “a thread of chicken with the skin still on.”
1 de abr. de 2011 · One of the things that struck me the most about “The End of the Line,” a story whose cruelty and violence actually made me uncomfortable, was the move at the very end—where the little little girl, if you will, has such sympathy and feeling and pity for the Big Man.
