The 3D Project will also play an essential part in the design of the future European Dunkirk-North Sea Cluster, which aims to capture, pack, transport, and store away 10 million tonnes of CO 2 per year and should be operational by 2035.
17 de mar. de 2021 · Air Liquide and ArcelorMittal have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to contribute significantly to the decarbonization of the Dunkirk industrial basin. The project will reduce yearly CO2 emissions from ArcelorMittal’s steel-making facilities in Dunkirk by 2.85Mt by 2030.

With support from the EU’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme, the project aims to validate replicable technical solutions for carbon capture.
4 de feb. de 2022 · In Dunkirk, ArcelorMittal will build a 2.5 million tonne Direct Reduction of Iron (DRI) unit to transform iron ore using hydrogen instead of coal. This DRI will be coupled with an innovative technology electric furnace and completed by an additional Electric Arc Furnace (EAF).
