Howard Duane Allman (né le 20 novembre 1946 et mort le 29 octobre 1971) est un guitariste américain, remarqué pour sa maîtrise de la technique du slide à la guitare. 31 de oct. de 2021 · OCTOBER 29, 1971 – Allman Brothers guitarist DUANE ALLMAN (b. November 20, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee) was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle on a Macon, Georgia street while trying to swerve to avoid a tractor-trailer. He was three weeks shy of his 25th birthday.
Duane’s death came as a shocking blow to a public which had just taken the Allman Brothers Band to its heart as the premier American band. After Duane’s funeral, a moving event attended by most of the artists he had played and worked with, the Allman Brothers played their first set without him.
