Yeah, personally the name Donovan immediately brings up the image of the most violent and awful panel in which he appears, which also happens to be one of the most hard to look at panels for me in the manga. I literally cannot associate that image with anything funny, and I wouldn’t want to even if I could.

Now, Miura isn't really afraid of drawing darker skinned people. Berserk is more diverse than a lot of manga I read, I immediately noticed that.
