7 de may. de 2024 · The Video. Crimson Peak is a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), approved by director Guillermo del Toro. The film was originally shot on the Arri Alexa XT with Zeiss Master Prime lenses in ARRIRAW 2.8K resolution and used a 2K DI. The new 4K transfer is then an upscale from the 2K.

Gothic romance and horror can be traced back to over a century ago, and these genre trappings have been a useful tool to someone like Guillermo del Toro, who’s used them in both print and on the screen since he began telling stories. 2015’s Crimson Peak seemed to be his ultimate expression of them with expansive sets, period costumes, and extremely stylized color and lighting.

28 de abr. de 2024 · Guillermo Del Toro's 2015 gothic tale arrives again via arrow, and it's a gorgeous 4k of the film, presumably derived from the 2k DI. With richer blacks and redder reds, it's a nice improvement over the Blu-ray, but unless you love the film, might not be worth the upgrade. Wonderful cast, great cinematography by Dan Laustsen.
