Stoll played Darren Cross / Yellowjacket / M.O.D.O.K. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Ant-Man (2015) and its sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023). For his portrayal of Ernest Hemingway in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris (2011) he was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male.
