The Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS) was introduced in the second clinical examination of the Canadian Study of Health and Aging (CSHA) as a way to summarize the overall level of fitness or frailty of an older adult after they had been evaluated by an experienced clinician (Rockwood et al., 2005).
La escala clínica de fragilidad (CFS, Clinical Frailty Scale) explica y describe gráficamente diferentes grados de fragilidad y discapacidad, de acuerdo con su nivel de vulnerabilidad. Varía desde la robustez y plena salud (estadio 1) hasta la situación de terminalmente enfermo (estadio 9), en base al juicio clínico.
