Hace 3 días · On 30 July 1502, during his fourth voyage, Christopher Columbus arrived at Guanaja, one of the Bay Islands off the coast of Honduras. He sent his brother Bartholomew to scout the island. As Bartholomew explored the island with two boats, a large canoe approached from the west, apparently en route to the island.
Hace 5 días · The location was discovered by Christopher Columbus (1451-1506) in 1502, during his final voyage to the Americas. He named it "Punta de Caxinas". Noticing that the surrounding waters were very deep, he named the area Golfo de Honduras (Gulf of the Depths).
