The 1930’s are synonymous of loss for Christian Dior: his mother in 1931, his childhood house in 1932 … But this is however during this decade that he established his first contacts with the fashion world. His friend the actor Jean Ozenne noticed his talent and encouraged him to sell some of his sketches.
This is where Christian Dior grew up in Granville. This pink and gray house, baptized the Villa Les Rhumbs, would endlessly inspire his creations. It was a green and cultivated setting, perched on the top of a cliff, with a English-style garden, existing away from prying eyes and the outside world.
