The Samaritan woman at the well is a figure from the Gospel of John. John 4 :4–42 relates her conversation with Jesus at Jacob's Well near the city of Sychar .
Christ, travelling to Galilee, reached the Samarian city of Sychar. While the disciples went ahead into the city to buy food, Christ sat down to rest by a fountain. A woman approached the well to draw water and Christ requested water to drink.

Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at the well of Sychar. He speaks of living water that brings eternal life, speaks of the woman's history with men, and reveals himself as the Christ.
