After spending some time brushing up on his forgotten Greek, Darwin enters Christ's College, Cambridge. January 1831. Darwin sits his BA exam, and is astonished to be ranked 10th out of 178 candidates. 27th December 1831. Darwin finally sets sail on the Beagle. 29th October 1836. Darwin meets the geologist Lyell for the first time.

11 de mar. de 2009 · Charles Darwin (1809-1882) Christ's College is where the famous biologist and naturalist and father of evolutionary biology, studied. He was a young, innovative and enthusiastic student, destined initially for a life in Holy Orders.
El Christ’s College se derivó de lo que se denominaba God's House, fundado en 1437 y que ocupaba el lugar en el que ahora se encuentra el King's College (Cambridge). Obtuvo su primer permiso real en 1446, y se desplazó a su lugar actual en 1448, donde obtuvo un segundo permiso real.

He therefore enrolled Charles at Christ's College, Cambridge in 1827 for a Bachelor of Arts degree as the qualification required before taking a specialised divinity course and becoming an Anglican parson.
