El present perfect, también conocido como present perfect simple o presente perfecto en español, es uno de los tiempos verbales del presente en inglés. Present perfect. Level: beginner. The present perfect is formed from the present tense of the verb have and the past participle of a verb. We use the present perfect: for something that started in the past and continues in the present: They've been married for nearly fifty years. She has lived in Liverpool all her life.
The present perfect is a verb tense which is used to show that an action has taken place once or many times before now. The present perfect is most frequently used to talk about experiences or changes that have taken place, but there are other less common uses as well.
Practice. Present perfect simple with for and since. She has lived here for over 30 years. I haven't played tennis since my accident. I've known Maya since I was twelve. ‘How long has she lived here?’ ‘For over 30 years./Since 1988.’. We can use the present perfect with for and a period of time.
