Auf Camels zweitem Album beginnt sich ihr charakteristischer Stil herauszubilden. Sie spielen Progressive Rock mit komplexen Rhythmen und abwechslungsreichen Gitarren- und Keyboardparts. Andrew Latimer spielt auf Mirage außerdem Flöte. Das Album kommt zu großen Teilen ohne Gesang aus. Die Atmosphäre ist meist leicht melancholisch.

4 de ene. de 2007 · Since she had never gotten around to upgrading her Camel albums to CD, I had never heard any of it before, but I ended up discovering it on my own anyway. And I'm glad I did too. MIRAGE was the first disc I sought out, and I know of very few albums that conjure a more distinct, cohesive atmosphere than the dream-like mist that pervades this one.
Review Summary: One of the greatest Progressive Rock albums of all time, if not the best. Mirage is essential to everyone who enjoys music. The average life-span of a Camel varies from forty to fifty years.
