De 1982 a 1985, con obras pobladas de palabras-conceptos, imágenes vudú, totémicas y arcaizantes, retratos-homenajes a héroes negros -músicos de jazz, escritores, jugadores de baloncesto, boxeadores- y referencias a la sociedad de consumo norteamericana.
A middle period from late 1982 to 1985 featured multi-panel paintings and individual canvases with exposed stretcher bars, the surface dense with writing, collage and imagery.
