The Art Institute of Chicago extends free admission to members of our community through several avenues. RESERVE ONLINE IN ADVANCE. Free Hours for Illinois Residents. Admission was free for Illinois residents on weekdays, January 8–March 22. Our next free hours for Illinois residents will be on Thursday evenings, 5:00–8:00, June 6–September 26.
