This was followed by their debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn , a lush, experimental record that has since become a rock classic.

Its working title was "When the Tigers Break Through" and was written at the same time as The Wall, hence its copyright date of 1979, and was originally intended to be part of that album, but was rejected by the other members of the band on the grounds that it was too personal.
