Hace 1 día · George Balanchine and Neo-Classical-Formalism • He is the last of Diaghilev’s (Ballets Russes) major choreographers, the most influential of all. • Born in St Petersburg in 1904, the son of a Georgian composer; his brother Andrei would also become a composer. Studied at the Imperial Ballet School; also learned the piano and, from 1919, trained at the Conservatory of Music.
