Antz is a 1998 American animated adventure comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation (as its debut film) and Pacific Data Images, and distributed by DreamWorks Pictures. It was directed by Eric Darnell and Tim Johnson (in their feature directorial debuts) from a screenplay by Todd Alcott and the writing team of Chris and Paul Weitz .
Princess Bala is the deuteragonist in the DreamWorks film, Antz. She is the daughter of the queen of ants, the wife of Z, and the former fiancé of Mandible.
Antz is the first animated film before The Prince of Egypt, as well as the first CGI-animated film, by DreamWorks Animation and the second feature-length computer-animated film. It is the eighth overall movie to be created by DreamWorks.
