In 1979, Ottawan was founded by record producers Daniel Vangarde and Jean Kluger and fronted by male singer Patrick Jean-Baptiste, who was originally from Guadeloupe, and female singer Annette Eltice.
Originally created by Jean Patrick and Annette Eltice, two talented musicians with Caribbean roots, Ottawan burst onto the scene in the late 1970s. Their claim to fame came with the sensational release of their chart-topping hit "D.I.S.C.O" in 1980, captivating audiences all over Europe.
