Technical Director Jussi Kemppainen discusses the After Effects 3D-like rigging system he developed to produce 2D animation with hand-drawn qualities for Rovio’s “Angry Birds Toons”.
We animated on several episodes, using a combination of After Effects rigs and hand drawn animation. Angry Birds Toons premiered on March 17 th 2013 and went on to be a great success for Rovio. Here are the teasers for the episodes we worked on.
March 16, 2013 [2] - May 13, 2016. Angry Birds Toons is a Finnish cartoon comedy series that is based on the Angry Birds franchise. It premiered on March 16 & 17 and aired from March 16, 2013, to May 13, 2016. The DVDs are currently published by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
