Personal life. In 1972 director Mike Leigh drove to Liverpool to see Ted Whitehead's play The Foursome, which featured Steadman. He asked her to be in his film Hard Labour, during which, both said, they "got together". They married in 1973 and had two sons, Toby (b. 1978) and Leo (b. 1981).
21 de mar. de 2024 · Alison was married to director Mike Leigh for over 20 years. Together, they welcomed two sons, illustrator Toby, 45, and filmmaker Leo, 42. Alison is also a grandmother to a six-year-old boy.
Mini Bio. The acclaimed Alison Steadman was born in 1946 in Liverpool, the daughter of George Percival Steadman and Marjorie Evans. Educated at Childwall Valley High School, she studied at the East-15 Acting School from 1966-1969, then toiled as a secretary at the Liverpool Probation Service before deciding on a full-time acting career.
